WITCHCRAFT! Investigators Reportedly Recover Suspected Shrine Items at Anita Among Residences

Security operatives carrying out searches at properties associated with former Speaker Anita Annet Among are said to have encountered materials believed to be linked to traditional spiritual practices, in a development that has stirred both intrigue and controversy.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the operation claim that detectives came across a range of items, including herbs, charms, and other objects typically connected to traditional shrines. The circumstances under which the items were recovered, as well as the purpose of the search, have not been formally disclosed by authorities.

News of the alleged discovery spread rapidly online, triggering intense public reaction. Many commentators pointed to Among’s visible association with Christian faith and her past international engagements, including visits to the Vatican, as a contrast to the claims now emerging.

Unverified accounts further allege that some of the materials were found placed alongside printed photographs of senior government figures, including Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba and President Yoweri Museveni. The significance of this claim, however, remains unclear.

By Sunday afternoon, there had been no official confirmation from security agencies regarding the reported findings. Authorities have also not clarified whether the items in question are part of any formal line of inquiry.

Despite the lack of verification, the reports have reignited broader debate about the intersection of traditional belief systems and modern political life in Uganda, particularly when such claims involve high-profile leaders.

Investigations are understood to be continuing, with officials expected to provide further clarity as inquiries progress.

Meanwhile, billions of shillings and millions of dollars were discovered in Anita Among’s home, according to a Ugandan minister, as reported Here.

the IGG has started investigating Anita Among, and the URA boss was reportedly summoned to State House over Anita Among’s tax records and imported properties. (See Details Here and There).

On the day of raids on Anita Among’s homes, and the arrest of his close ally Chris Obore, Museveni endorsed defence minister Jacob Oboth Oboth to take over as speaker, replacing Anita Among. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
