A security team comprising UPDF personnel and CID operatives has raided Anita Among’s home. The raid at the upscale Nakasero home is said to be part of an investigation into allegations of illicit accumulation of wealth and money laundering.
Earlier in the day, elite Special Forces Command (SFC) soldiers took over Anita Among’s home, reports indicate. And as if to confirm the reports a top Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) leader has said the deployment will be withdrawn after Jacob Oboth Oboth has become the 12th Parliament speaker.

According to reports, SFC soldiers besieged Anita Among’s home at about 3am in the morning of Saturday, May 16, 2026 and have not left yet.
It is also said that the SFC soldiers are controlling movements into and out of Anita Among’s home. Reports further show that the soldiers demand that those gaining access or exiting the speaker’s home register themselves.
According to PLU secretary general and Kasambya MP David Kabanda, the SFC soldiers will not leave until West Budama MP and minister of defence and veteran affairs Marksons Jacob Oboth Oboth has been declared speaker of parliament.
Kabanda even accuses Anita Among of referring to the Patriotic League of Uganda as pilawo (a corruption of PLU).
“They will leave after Hon. Oboth Oboth has become the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 12th parliament,” wrote Kabanda.
“She has been calling PLU “pilawo”, let her say it again.”
