At least 1,000 Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers have failed the aptitude test set by the Education Service Commission (ESC) and missed on government payroll jobs.
The Commission, whose chairperson is Rev Prof Samuel Luboga Abimelech and its secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago, is currently undertaking the exercise of recruiting about 5,000 secondary school teachers.
Out of thousands of teachers who had applied for government payroll jobs, only 1,260 were shortlisted for an aptitude test which they sat at the end of last month.
Of those who sat the aptitude test, only 260 passed and were subjected to oral interviews to choose the best who will soon
What this means is that only about 20 per cent of those who sat the aptitude test qualified to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
It also means that up to 1,000 of the CRE 1,260 teachers who sat the aptitude test did not get past this stage.
The list of CRE teachers who PASSED the aptitude test and were shortlisted for oral interviews is provided below:
The ESC is expected to release the final list of teachers who will be included on the payroll very soon, according to sources.
Meanwhile, thousands of teachers have failed the aptitude tests for Geography, History, and Economics/Entrepreneurship. (See Full Lists HERE, THERE, and EVEN HERE).
