Over 1,570 Economics and Entrepreneurship teachers have failed to score the required mark for them to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment exercise currently undertaken by the Education Service Commission (ESC).
The Ministry of Education and Sports, through the ESC, is in the final stages of an exercise to recruit secondary school teachers.
Last month, the ESC administered aptitude tests for thousands of teachers who applied for jobs to facilitate learning in at least five subjects: History, Geography, Fine Art, Christian Religious Education (CRE) and Economics/Entrepreneurship.
The Commission administered an aptitude test to 2,141 teachers who were shortlisted for government payroll jobs as education officers (EOs).
Of these, only about 565 — or 26 per cent — passed the aptitude test and were shortlisted for oral interviews after which the final list of successful candidates is expected to be released by the Education Service Commission.
This means that about 1,570 of the teachers who sat for the aptitude test failed to go through to the next stage.
The List of Economics/Entrepreneurship Teachers Who Sat the Aptitude Test is provided below:
