Baby King ‘Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo Coming to Uganda Next Week? No. Here’s Why

A statement circulating on social media claiming that the late Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV’s son, referred to as “Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo,” will arrive in Uganda next week and be presented at Karuziika Palace on September 23, 2026, has been attributed to Prince Yoweri Komwiswa.

The Pearl Times has found the statement cannot be authenticated as coming from Prince Yoweri Komwiswa.

The statement was circulated from an X account using the handle @yowerikomwiswa1, claiming to belong to Prince Yoweri Komwiswa.

However, The Pearl Times’ checks indicate that the account is not the verified or authentic X account of Prince Yoweri Komwiswa. The account has also since been suspended by X.

The Pearl Times has further been informed by sources familiar with the matter that the statement should be disregarded and should not be treated as an official communication from Prince Komwiswa.

The claim is particularly significant because the identity and whereabouts of Oyo’s alleged biological son have become central to the bitter succession dispute following the death of the 34-year-old king.

What the statement claims

The statement circulating online reads:

PRINCE JACKSONVILLE JACOB OYO

I bring greetings from the royal family and more importantly good news about Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo.

Prince Jacob will fly in from America on Monday and will be presented to Musuuga and entire Tooro kingdom at Karuzika Palace on Wednesday September 23rd 2026.

All media houses and kingdom stakeholders are therefore invited.

The message appeared online on September 18, with the X account @yowerikomwiswa1 identified as the source. A copy of the post was also reproduced by other media platforms.

FACT CHECK: The account is not enough to establish the statement’s authenticity

The most important problem with the announcement is its source.

Although the statement bears Prince Yoweri Komwiswa’s name, the X account from which it was circulated is not an authenticated account belonging to him, according to The Pearl Times’ checks.

The account has since been suspended by X.

That means the existence of the post on X does not establish that Prince Komwiswa authored, approved or released the statement.

The Pearl Times therefore finds the attribution to Prince Yoweri Komwiswa unsubstantiated.

What is actually known about Oyo’s alleged son?

The existence of a biological son of the late King Oyo has been at the centre of the Tooro succession dispute.

Oyo’s Last Will and Testament, dated September 14, 2022, has been publicly discussed by members of his family and reproduced by Ugandan media. The will reportedly identifies a biological son as the first heir to the Tooro throne if he was lawfully recognised as Oyo’s son at the time of the king’s death.

The same succession provision reportedly names Prince Yoweri Komwiswa as the alternative successor if Oyo’s son is unable to assume the throne, followed by Prince Nyaika Solomon.

Prince Komwiswa is therefore a significant figure in the succession dispute, but that does not authenticate every statement issued in his name on social media.

No independent confirmation of September 23 presentation

The viral statement makes a specific and easily verifiable claim: that “Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo” will fly in from America on Monday and be presented to Musuuga and the entire Tooro Kingdom at Karuziika Palace on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The Pearl Times has found no authenticated statement from Prince Komwiswa establishing that announcement.

The wording of the social-media post therefore should not be treated as confirmation that Oyo’s alleged son is returning to Uganda on Monday or that a presentation ceremony has been scheduled for September 23.

This distinction is important because there is already an established public dispute over Oyo’s succession.

The succession dispute

A 21-member Babiito royal clan committee announced Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as successor following Oyo’s death.

The announcement was immediately challenged by members of Oyo’s royal family, including Princess Ruth Komuntale and Princess Elizabeth Bagaya, who pointed to Oyo’s will and its provisions concerning his son and subsequent successors.

The will’s reported succession provisions have since become a central document in the dispute. Prince Komwiswa and his brother Prince Nyaika were among those rejecting Kijanangoma’s selection, arguing that Oyo’s will provided a different succession path.

Against that background, an announcement claiming that Oyo’s son is about to arrive in Uganda would carry enormous significance.

But the source of the announcement matters just as much as the announcement itself.

The Pearl Times verdict

CLAIM: Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo will fly from America on Monday and be presented at Karuziika Palace on September 23.

SOURCE: An X account using @yowerikomwiswa1 and identifying the author as Prince Yoweri Komwiswa.

CHECK: The account has since been suspended by X and, according to The Pearl Times’ checks, is not the authentic X account of Prince Yoweri Komwiswa.

VERDICT: FALSE/UNVERIFIED AS AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.

This fact check does not establish that Oyo’s alleged son is not in existence, nor does it establish where he is currently located. It establishes only that the viral September 23 announcement cannot be authenticated as a statement from Prince Yoweri Komwiswa and should not be presented as official confirmation of the child’s return.

Until an authenticated royal-family statement, an official Tooro Kingdom communication, or another verifiable source confirms the travel and presentation arrangements, claims that “Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo” is arriving in Uganda next week should be treated with caution.
