Mountains of the Moon University has released the list showing names of students admitted on government sponsorship on the national merit scheme.
The list includes up to 78 students who will pursue various courses or academic programs at the university.
Only seven academic programs or courses were considered for the few slots available to the university under the national merit scheme of government sponsorship which is meant for best performing students.
Most of these are science, agriculture or technology related, which is part of government’s deliberate efforts to promote sciences by offering over 70 per cent of scholarships to science-based students.
Beneficiary courses or academic programs are: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science In Public Health, Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Science with Education (Physical), Bachelor of Environmental Health Science, and Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Water Resources Management.
Those admitted for a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program on Government Sponsorship under the national merit scheme at Mountains of the Moon University are: Ahaisibwe Blair, Bigabwa Joseph Moris, Luganda Benjamin M, Mugisha Noah M, Atuhaire Devin Mwesige, Naturinda Jackson, Aloto Henry, Azairwe Roland M and Ssebadduka Aqraam.
Those admitted for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program are: Luyimbazi Oscar, Kasozi Hafizu, Wamani Praise, Mirembe Angella, Istvan Joseph, Orabaasa Allan, Alinitwe Denis, Mpagi Shafiq, Lukwago Arafah Hassan, Asiimwe Bright Kamara, Mubbale Joshua, Kazoora Faruuku, Aluka Hellen Christine, Atuhairwe Kyle, Bbalaza Muzamiru, Akiiza Victor.
Those who won government scholarships to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Public Health include Ndashimye Marvin, Batte Colline, Lubowa Richard, Kalamagi Atwooki, Mumbere Benjamin Precious, Kayizi Trevor, Kyamulamira Regan, Rubingisa Mugambira, and Onen Thomas.
Those admitted on government sponsorship (national merit) to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree progam at Mountains of the Moon University are Muyanja Jimmy, Mugyisha Nicholas, Nannyomo Julian, Ahimbisibwe Isaac, Kusaasira Favour, Kihumuro Huzaifah, Mubiru Shafic, Muwanga John Misdus, Tayebwa Innocent, Lukungu Pius, Mayanja Johnpatrick, Nasasira Micheal, and Kida Benard.
Students admitted for Bachelor of Science with Education (Physical) on government sponsorship (national merit) at Mountains of the Moon University are Munanura Brian, Mbabazi Shafii, Ayebazibwe Enock, Musasizi Innocent, Oruma Jesse, Lokobal Eric, Akandwanaho Barnabas, Mumbere Bright, Kisakye Daniel and Tumusiime Denis.
Those admitted to pursue a Bachelor of Environmental Health Science at Mountains of the Moon University on national merit scheme of government sponsorship are: Ochola James, Nowamani Wise, Mukwaya Peter Claver, Nansubuga Hafswa, Sserwanja Abdul, Nalunjogi Shibah, Isingoma Mugabe Peter, Ayebare Nelson, Akullo Daphine, Namande Nadiah, and Mbamanya Aklam.
Those admitted to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Water Resources Management program at Mountains of the Moon University on national merit scheme of government sponsorship are Luyinda Henry Wasswa, Kaliba Marvin, Tayebwa Elly, Ssebuma Kizito, Ssekiranda Owen, Budoli Axiam, Kasumba Frank, Ssonko Edrine, Ssebaggala Ibrahim and Niwamanya Elias
Mountains of the Moon University is one of the public universities in Uganda for which government offers about 4,000 scholarships. The other public universities are Makerere University and its business school of MUBS, Kabale University, Kyambogo University, Muni University, Soroti University, Gulu University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Lira University and Busitema University.
