The European Union delegation in Uganda on February 18 tasked President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni to explain why he has severally labelled Europeans and the Western World enemies of Uganda.
Museveni had met EU delegation officials at State House Entebbe to discuss outstanding issues.
Head of EU delegation to Uganda Attilio Pacifici led his team a day after he met the secretariat of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
When Museveni was tasked to explain his statements, he accused EU of a deficit in knowledge, information and philosophy.
He further told the EU delegation neither European countries nor the union’s parliament had jurisdiction to tell sovereign states what to do.
The president even asked his foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa to clarify on claims by EU officials that their parliament had authority to condemn Uganda.
Kutesa expressed disappointment that the EU had failed to respect Uganda as a partner, reminding the Pacifici delegation that none was superior in the partnernship between the two sides.
