REVEALED: Public Service Commission Explains Why Robert Kabushenga is Unfit to Become KCCA ED

12 Shortlisted for KCCA ED Job

Former Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga was among the high profile applicants who did not make the shortlist for the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director job.

The others who missed a place on the shortlist were acting ED Frank Rusa Nyakaana and former National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Managing Director Richard Byarugaba.

The Public Service Commission (PSC), which is handling the recruitment process for the next KCCA ED and deputy ED after President Yoweri Museveni fired the Dorothy Kisaka and other city bosses, wrote to Kabushenga explaining why he did not make the shortlist.

PSC told Kabushenga that he did not meet the minimum requirements for the KCCA ED job, advising him to apply for other jobs for which he meets the requirements, as and when those offers are advertised.

“Thank you for your interest in the above mentioned post. We evaluated all the applications for the above post and unfortunately your application does not meet the minimum qualification requirements,” the Commission wrote to Kabushenga.

“This is therefore to inform you that you were not shortlisted, we encourage you to apply for other positions as they become available.”

Kabushenga later offered details on his lack of minimum qualifications, revealing that he did not have a master’s degree as required.

“I have been notified by the Public Service Commission that I do NOT meet the minimum requirements for the job of Executive Director of KCCA,” he wrote.

“I do not hold a Master’s Degree. For this reason I will not make the shortlist. I am grateful to all those who expressed their goodwill and support. So, it ends here for me. In the meantime, I will keep left!”

Kabushenga resigned his Vision Group CEO job in 2021. He got himself involved in the coffee business, but his warehouse was hit by a storm at some point, as reported Here, There and Over There.
