MPs have beaten UPDF generals to emerge winners of Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba 48th birthday cup.
As we reported recently, the UPDF’s top administrations granted a request by pro-Muhoozi MPs for a match with the generals. (Read Story Here).
The match, which was played at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala on April 29 ended 3:1 in favour of the MPs.
Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, the army’s captain, scored the generals’ only goal, which was a penalty after he was fouled in the 18 yard box.
The MPs took home a trophy for Muhoozi Birthday Cup 2022.
“While the game managed to have many goals in it, the main GOAL was to foster our friendship with the UPDF and all teams scored highly. I thank the UPDF and Parliament for organizing this occasion and look forward to more of such,” said Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa who was the chief guest.

On April 23, Kainerugaba held a birthday party at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
At the party, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander of UPDF Land Forces, unveilled his plan for Ugandan youth. (Read Story Here).
Earlier, Muhoozi had addressed those who participated in a marathon to honor him. The first son said the country was on fire because of him. (Read Story Here).
