A National Unity Platform (NUP) mobilizer, who was abducted with Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s bodyguard Edward Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe over two weeks ago, was dumped near Namboole Stadium.
NUP president Bobi Wine identified the mobilizer as Kassim Ssebudde. He added that Ssebudde was dumped at Namboole in the night.
He also noted that the abductors would separate Eddie Mutwe from Ssebudde a day after they were both kidnapped.
Bobi Wine said that Ssebudde was tortured and warned never to open up about his torture or he would never be alive again.
“After more than two weeks under incommunicado detention and torture, our comrade Ssebudde Kassim was driven to Namboole in the dead of the night and dumped near Namboole stadium. He was abducted alongside comrade Eddie Mutwe who was separated from them a day later,” wrote Bobi Wine.
“His story is not different from that of other victims – he was severely tortured, and upon release, ordered not to speak about his ordeal, otherwise they would k!ll him. The cowardly regime is doing all this to silence us, but our voices must get louder and our actions stronger.”
Ssebudde was not able to tell where he was being held since his abduction on April 27, 2025.
“He was being held in a place he has no idea about since he was blindfolded most of the time. Despite all this, his spirit is not broken!” said NUP secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya.
Days before Eddie Mutwe was dumped at Masaka Court first son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba confirmed that he was detaining Eddie Mutwe in his basement and that Bobi Wine’s bodyguard was learning Runyankore. Muhoozi even asked Bobi Wine, ‘what will you do about it?” (See Details Here).
Eddie Mutwe has told Bobi Wine and his lawyers about his suffering inside a torture chamber, including claims of being injected with a strange drug and, having his pr!v@te parts squeezed, as reported Here, There and Over There.
Museven’s son’s actions prompted Bobi Wine to write to Banyankore and Bakiga elders, telling them to speak out against Muhoozi’s actions and tribal statements before it is too late. (See Details Here and There).
Meanwhile, Muhoozi has demanded an apology from Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) boss Mariam Wangadya for calling for the release of Eddie Mutwe. Wangadya has fired back fearlessly telling Muhoozi that his comments are of no consequence. (See Details Here and There).
