First son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has trashed a letter from Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) chairperson Mariam Wangadya on Eddie Mutwe.
While Eddie Mutwe, a bodyguard to main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, was still missing and said to be in detention in a basement, Wangadya wrote to Gen Muhoozi with a directive for his release order.
“Whereas Edward Rogers Ssebuuufu also known as Eddie Mutwe has been on your custody since 26th April, 2025, and whereas the commission is satisfied that he is being unlawfully detained or restricted, this is to direct you to cause the immediate release of Edward Rogers Ssebuuufu from your custody failure of which, you may be liable of contempt under Article 53(1)(d) of the constitution,” Wangadya wrote to Muhoozi on May 02, 2025.
The letter was received by the Office of the Chief of Defence Forces on the same day.
Days later, Eddie Mutwe was dumped at Masaka court and charged with robbery.
Now, Muhoozi has demanded an apology from UHRC chairperson Wangadya, as he gave her the last warning not to send him such stupid letters again.
“If these people value the lives we gave them they MUST NEVER even think of sending me such a STUPID letter again!” wrote Gen Muhoozi.
“This is their last warning! I expect an apology.”
The letter has attracted reactions from Ugandans, including Bobi Wine who observed that President Yoweri Museveni and his son Gen Muhoozi “believe that they gave us the lives we live.”
“After seeing this, you then understand why they treat us the way they do,” added Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine has also written to Banyankore and Bakiga elders telling them to speak out against Muhoozi before it is too late. (See full letter and related reporting Here and There).
