2026 Elections

Muhoozi: I Want My Mother Janet Museveni to Succeed My Father and Become Uganda’s First Female President

First son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says he fully supports the idea of his mother Janet Museveni succeeding his father Gen Yoweri Museveni and become Uganda’s first female president.

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), dropped his 2026 presidential ambitions to support his father Gen Museveni’s reelection bid, months ago after being appointed top military chief. (See Details Here and There).

He now says he would want his mother Janet Museveni as Uganda’s first female president. Comparing his mother’s beauty with his wife Charlotte’s Gen Muhoozi says he supports the idea of Janet becoming president.

“Apart from Charlotte, I don’t know a woman on this planet who is more beautiful than my mother!” he wrote.

“Personally, I support her to become Uganda’s first female President.”

However, just recently, Gen Muhoozi said he was sure his father will defeat opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine — or Kabobi — in 2026. He also praised former leader of opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga, prompting Bobi Wine to fire back at him, as The Pearl Times reported Here and There.

As The Pearl Times has previously reported, Janet Museveni is one of the four Museveni first family members reportedly interested in succeeding Museveni. One of these close Museveni relatives is said to be fearless and powerful and as having potential to remove the president if he wanted. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
