Uganda Prisons Service has announced appointments, transfers and leave of officers. Up to 36 officers have been affected by the appointments, transfers and leave grants.
The appointments, transfers and leave grants take immediate effect, according to Uganda Prisons Service spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja.
Baine also noted that the appointments and transfers were aimed at professionalization of the service and improvement of service delivery.
“The Commissioner General of Prisons has made key appointments, transfers and granted leave to officers as part of the ongoing efforts to professionalize the Uganda Prisons Service and improve service delivery,” noted Baine.
“These changes take immediate effect, and regional and district prisons commanders are directed to oversee all handovers and takeovers.”
