Janet Museveni, Minister of Education and Sports, releasing 2024 PLE results

In this report on the coverage of 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results, The Pearl Times brings you the list of 300 best performing schools in Western Uganda in PLE 2024.

These schools are drawn from the sub regions of Ankole (Nkore), Kigezi, Tooro, Bunyoro and Rwenzori.

Districts and municipalities covered are: Buhweju,    Bundibugyo,     Bunyangabu,      Bushenyi, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality,     Fort Portal City,       Hoima,    Hoima City,   Ibanda, Ibanda Municipality,       Isingiro, Kabale Municipality,       Kabale,     Kabarole,       Kagadi,    Kakumiro,       Kamwenge,    and   Kanungu.

Other districts and municipalities include: Kasese Municipality,       Kasese,      Kazo,      Kibaale,      Kiruhura,       Kiryandongo,       Kitagwenda,      Kyegegwa,       Kyenjojo,       Masindi, Rukungiri Municipality,      Mbarara,       Mbarara City,       Mitooma, Ntungamo, Rubanda       Rubirizi,      Rukiga, Masindi Municipality,      Rukungiri,       Rwampara, Sheema Municipality,      and  Sheema District.

As The Pearl Times editor has explained the concept of the average aggregate score Here, “to understand this ranking, one has to imagine a district with only two candidates: one with aggregate four and another with aggregate 36. The average aggregate score is 20. Four plus 36, then divide the total by two — the number of candidates. Simply: (04+36=40; 40/2=20).”

From the analysis for Buganda best performing schools in PLE 2024, the following example was given: “In Mubende District… the best performing school there was Bright Star Primary School which had an average aggregate score of 11.95 for its 22 candidates… What this means is that there could have candidates with in division one, two and maybe other grades. To get the average, you add all the aggregate scores for the 22 candidates at Bright Star Primary School.”

You can compare Western Uganda’s list of PLE 2024 best performing schools below with the region’s star schools of 2023 HERE.
