The selection exercise for Senior One class of 2024 has ended, with traditional schools admitting more students and most of them maintaining their previous year’s cutoff points.
First lady Janet Kataaha Museveni’s Ministry of Education and Sports has allowed traditional top schools to increase their senior one enrolment by up to 200.
Of the top pack, Mengo SS will have the biggest Senior One class of 700 students, 100 more than last year’s enrolment.
As a way of affirmative action, a number of top mixed schools asked an aggregate or two less than for females (F) compared to males (M).
One must have score at least aggregate five from 2023 PLE to gain admission to the 2024 Senior One classes at King’s College Budo, St Mary’s SS Kitende, Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo, St Mary’s Kisubi, Maryhill High School and Gayaza High School, The Pearl Times has learnt.
Without an aggregate six score in 2023 PLE, one will not gain admission to Makerere College, Immaculate Heart Girls SS Nyakibare, Trinity College Nabbingo, Ntare SS, Ndejje SS and St Henry’s Kitovu.
