A little over 900 teachers and non-teaching staff have passed aptitude tests and will proceed to oral interviews, the final stage of the recruitment process for staff for seed schools in West Nile or Cluster Nine, according to the Education Service Commission (ESC) under the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The 924 shortlisted candidates are those who, a few weeks ago, sat aptitude tests under the recruitment exercise for teachers and non-teaching staff for secondary seed schools under the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers Program (UGIFT).
The shortlisted candidates cluster nine (West Nile) responded to ESC Advert No. 4/2024 published on December 23, 2024 for the posts of teaching staff or teachers – Education Officer (EO), and Assistant Education Officer (AEO); as well as Non-teaching Staff (NTS): Senior Accountant Assistant (SAA), Enrolled Nurses, Stenographer Secretaries, Library Assistants and Laboratory Assistants.
“The Secretary Education Service Commission informs candidates who did aptitude tests under Cluster 9, Arua Center from 15th and 16th April 2025, that the shortlists for successful candidates are hereby released,” noted ESC Secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago.
“Successful candidates will be subjected to oral interviews from Monday 28th April to Friday 2nd May 2025. The oral interviews will be conducted in KAMPALA at KOLOLO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, SESEMAT HOSTEL, starting at 8:00am each Day.”
Dr Lukwago also reminded shortlisted candidates to take with them originals of their academic or professional certificates and transcripts as well as their national identity cards.
He also urged them to endeavor to appear as scheduled, noting that “requests for rescheduling will not be accepted.”
“Candidates whose names do not appear on the list should consider themselves unsuccessful,” added Lukwago. “Candidates should Note that services provided by Education Services Commission are free of charge.”
The seed schools for which the shortlisted candidates will do oral interviews have been assigned boards. Board A1, A2 are for All Saints Seed S.S. Oluvu from Maracha; Drajini Hill Seed S.S in Yumbe is B1, B2; Arinyapi Seed S.S from Adjumani is C1, C2; while Gopele Seed S.S from Obongi is D1, D2.
Kerwa Seed S.S Yumbe is E1, E2; NdhewSeed S.S Nebbi is F1, F2; Nyakaliso Seed S.S Koboko is G1, G2; while St. Peter’s Seed S.S Arua is H1, H2.
There are 113 candidates shortlisted for Board A1, A2; 128 for B1, B2; 79 for C1, C2; 106 for D1, D2; 131 for E, 142 for F, 107 for G and 118 for H.
