Main opposition National Unity Platform has released the final lists of NUP flagbearers for Kampala and Wakiso for the 2026 local council elections.
The list for Kampala includes corrections to earlier published lists, the party said.
“The Special Committee put in place to receive and handle complaints arising out of candidate selection processes wishes to notify that eleven complaints arising from KAMPALA ELECTORAL DISTRICT have been resolved in favor of the complainants. The rest of the complaints have not succeeded,” the National Unity Platform said in a statement.
“Please note that the mandate of the Committee is limited to correcting errors and dealing with other technical issues, as opposed to dealing with opinion based complaints, which would require a full hearing. This is because of the limited time before candidates go for nomination!”
The NUP also made it clear that it will endorse candidates whose names appear on the lists published.
“The Committee is doing its best to finalise complaints from the rest of the districts and release their lists accordingly,” it added.
The party also released the list for Wakiso.
