Investigations have revealed six other schools Christopher Okello Onyum may have planned to attack as the suspected killers ISIS searches are exposed.
Fresh investigations into the Ggaba daycare killings have uncovered chilling new details showing that suspect Christopher Okello Onyum had mapped out several other potential targets before the deadly attack.
In the aftermath of the killings at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program, grief and outrage spread across the country as more details emerged about the victims—young children whose lives were tragically cut short in a place meant to nurture and protect them. The incident sent shockwaves through communities and raised urgent questions about safety in early childhood institutions.
As public pressure mounted, President Yoweri Museveni directed that the suspect be subjected to a public trial, emphasizing transparency and accountability in handling such a disturbing case. The trial is currently being conducted at Ggaba Community Church grounds, bringing proceedings closer to the affected community.
The case is being presided over by Justice Alice Komuhangi Khaukha, who is overseeing the hearing amid heightened public interest and emotional testimony from witnesses, investigators, and families seeking justice.
Investigators have since revealed that Onyum allegedly conducted extensive online searches prior to the attack, including disturbing queries related to extremist violence and beheading, as well as detailed searches of specific locations. Among the places he reportedly researched were Bunga Police Station, Kyanja Junior School, Matugga Preschool, Lam Kindergarten and Daycare Centre, Mom’s Love Kindergarten, Edibet ECD, and Golden Infant Kindergarten—indicating what authorities believe may have been a broader plan targeting multiple schools.
In court, Police Cyber Crime Detective Henry Kenneth Angulo, attached to the Directorate of Forensic Services, testified that digital evidence shows the suspect used Google Maps on his phone to pinpoint Church Close in Ggaba—the location of the daycare centre. This, prosecutors argue, demonstrates deliberate reconnaissance ahead of the attack.
Angulo further told the court that investigators recovered a flash disk believed to belong to the suspect. The device reportedly contained a document titled “Sanguine Military Operation in the World,” which forensic analysis indicates was saved in the early hours of November 2025. Authorities are treating the document as a key piece of evidence in understanding the suspect’s mindset and possible motivations.
The prosecution maintains that these findings point to premeditation and a disturbing level of planning, strengthening the case against Onyum as hearings continue.
Meanwhile, details have also emerged on Christopher Okello Onyum’s bank transactions, phone records and movements before the Ggaba daycare killings, as well as his confessions on the killings, a previous murder and his plan to kill himself as detailed Here, There and Over There.
It should be remembered that for a second time, a thunderstorm disrupted the Christopher Okello Onyum public trial as the tent collapsed and the judge was evacuated to her car, as reported Here.
