First Son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made it clear that he will continue to follow orders from his father Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba, thought by some to be Uganda’s crown prince, is also the Commander Land Forces and his father’s senior advisor on special operations.
Some in the opposition have accused the first son, who previously commanded the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) charged with presidential security, of torturing critics.
One of the latest to accuse Kainerugaba of torture is novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija.
But Museveni’s son has dismissed the writer’s allegations. (Read story here).
Now, the commander land forces has sworn not to stop following his father’s orders just like his uncle Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh, a man he considers one of the greatest military officers.
He has also praised his father for his role in establishing an army that he says was now giving Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels headache.
“Like my uncle I shall follow my father’s orders till the end,” said Kainerugaba.
“Under his leadership we have built one of the best militaries in Africa! ADF is now learning what UPDF means!”
