Bunyoro Kingdom Prince Patrick Jolly Baguma Ateenyi has perished in an accident on the Busega Expressway.
The kingdom officials and senior government officials from Bunyoro confirmed the death of Prince Patrick Jolly Baguma.
Prince Patrick Jolly Baguma, who was a son of the late Omubiito Ramuji of Katasiha in Hoima City, was also the fire safety services provider for Link Buses.
“Link Bus family joins in mourning the untimely passing of our fire safety services provider, Mr. Jolly Patrick Baguma, who tragically lost his life in a devastating accident on the northern bypass May his legacy of bravery and service live on,” the bus company said in a statement.
Baguma previously served under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and parliamentary candidate for Hoima Municipality.
“We are saddened by the passing of Hon. Baguma Jolly Patrick Ateenyi, former FDC Deputy President and Parliamentary candidate for Hoima Municipality. He lost his life in a motor accident this morning at Busega. Our condolences to his family, friends & the FDC fraternity. RIP,” the FDC said.

Asinansi Nyakato, the Hoima City woman MP, talked of Baguma as a “mentor” and “a strong pillar.”
“It’s with deep pain that I announce the death of my brother and mentor Patrick Baguma in an accident. He introduced me to politics in 2009 and he has been a strong pillar in both my personal and political life,” noted Nyakato.
“He served as Deputy President of FDC in charge of Western for 10 yrs! RIP.”
A funeral service for Omubiito Patrick Baguma Jolly Ateenyi was held at Bugolobi COU on July 19, 2025.
