Followers of Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo Ministries have fired back at former assistant Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, Dr Zac Niringiye, and other Ugandans for criticizing the church’s $55m project.
Apostle Lubega recently announced that there was a plan to establish a church building that would take up to $55m and one that would be fully funded by his followers and members of Phaneroo Ministries.
The apostle made it clear that he would not borrow for the project.
And critics, including Dr Zac Niringiye, started blasting Apostle Grace Lubega, saying he should concentrate on helping the poor or putting up structures like hospitals and factories to employ jobless youths instead of building mega church structures.
Some of Apostle Grace Lubega have fired back at Niringiye and other critics, comparing them to Judas Iscariot.
One follower wondered why some people want Apostle Grace Lubega to do what an elected government should be doing.
“It’s deeply disappointing to see people attacking Ap Grace Lubega over his plans to build a $55m church,” wrote a one Her Majesty on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter.
“Let’s be clear: the responsibilities some of you are demanding from him like fixing roads, building hospitals, or addressing national infrastructure are the duty of the government.”
“Phaneroo doesn’t need to fundraise! Our ministry is rich, as in wealthy! Even if our father chooses to, we could not bother people neither will it take long to finally get that money!’ opined Dr Nuel Muhumuza.
“Apostle Grace Lubega only preaches to rich men and women! $55M remains too little for what many of us expected the cathedral to cost! And we will build that cathedral.”
“Why don’t you all open up organizations / foundations from your salaries anti muli soo employed and employee others,’ wrote Enock Mugisha.
“A quick one! Why don’t you also take that money you spend on concerts and bars on construction of Hospitals, schools and roads?”
Sam Ongole, one of the supporters of Apostle Lubega’s mega church project, wrote to us comparing Niringiye to Judas Iscariot’s actions in John 12: 3-8.

This is a very sad comment coming from the so called Bishop, who even knows that God deserves better, than pretending to be concerned about the poor. No wonder he seems to be typical of the religious like himself who accused Jesus for allowing a pr0st!tute, to smear him with a very expensive perfume, which according to them and their religiosity, could have been sold, and money given to the poor, this is hypocrisy in Jesus’ name.
Niringiye should play his church politics carefully. While building hospitals, schools, and caring for the so called the poor is a good thing, Niringiye, should not set it as a priority for others. Iif he prioritizes that, then he should go ahead doing that with his own resources, but not accusing others who prioritize building a mega house for God to save souls from kingdom of darkness.
Niringiye should style up. Born again churches and Pastors have a primary calling to rescue people from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. So, Niringiye should not set standards for our churches and Pastors. His fellow religious leaders of Judus Iscariot’s caliber accused Jesus for allowing a pr0st!tute to smear him with a very expensive perfume, which according to him and his religiosity, would have been sold and money given to the poor, building hospitals, schools, poverty alleviation, etc.
This is hypocrisy of the religious leaders. Apostle Grace Lubega should go ahead and build a mega church for God. Let the Niringiyes of this religious world care for the poor since it’s their primary calling…”
It should be remembered that Zac Niringiye trashed Apostle Grace Lubega’s Shs200bn Mega Church Project to be Funded by Followers, calling it “Robbery in Jesus’ Name.” (See Details Here).
