UPDATE: Museveni Clears Son Muhoozi’s Upcoming Mega Youth Conference; 20 Presidents Invited (See Their Names)

Ugandan first son and senior presidential advisor Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Museveni has told his supporters that his father Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has cleared his proposal for a youth conference due to take place in Kampala in a matter of weeks. The first son also revealed that about 20 heads of state and government from across the world will be attending the event.

On Thursday, October 27 evening, Gen Muhoozi, who was weeks ago fired from his position as the Commander of the Land Forces (CLF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), the country’s national army, announced that his father has granted his request to allow him and the youth hold a Patriotic Youth Conference.

The words ‘allowed us’ point to the working political relationship between father and son as the debate on a transition from Gen Museveni, who turned 78 years in September 2022, and Gen Muhoozi, who celebrated his 48th birthday in April, continues to rage on.

Museveni recently promoted his son to the rank of General, the highest in the Ugandan army. Gen Muhoozi retained his job as the senior presidential advisor on special operations. Now, the first son has revealed that in the coming weeks, he will hold a conference in which he will invite several world leaders, including China’s Xi Jinping, Vladmir Putin of Russia and Joe Biden of the United States!

“As the Commander-in- Chief of the Mighty MK Army, I’m glad to announce that our Supreme Commander of the Revolution H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has allowed us to have a ‘Patriotic Youth Conference’ in the next few weeks. It will be a great time to interact!” wrote Muhoozi. 

“We shall have guest speakers from all over the world! We are struggling for a better world! The Ugandan Revolution under the guidance of our eternal Commandante HE Yoweri Museveni will provide answers for the young generation!”

Besides Putin, Jinping and Biden, Muhoozi said they will invite these leaders: H.E. General Yoweri Museveni, H.E. General Paul Kagame, H.E Ramaphosa, H.E. Jacob Zuma, Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, H.E. General Buhari, H.E. Field Marshal Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, H.E. General Salva Kiir Mayardit, H.E. William Ruto, H.E. General Evariste Ndayishimiye, H.E. Felix Tshisekedi, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, H.E. General Isaias Afwerki, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

It should be remembered that Muhoozi invited Rwandan President Paul Kagame for his State House dinner hosted by his father Museveni. During the dinner, President Kagame offered to start editing Muhoozi’s tweets. The tweets have since put Muhoozi in trouble with his father Museveni. (Read Stories Here and There).

The first son also revealed that Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, Argentine Marxist revolutionary and guerrilla leader and key figure in the Cuban Revolution, will be honored during the youth conference. “One resolution we have to reach, in our global Patriotic Youth Conference, is to declare ‘Commandante Ernesto Guevara’ an eternal inspiration and love for us!”
