Three Family Members Killed in Entebbe Accident

Three family members were killed in an Entebbe accident, Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety at Uganda Police Force (UPF) has confirmed. 

The accident happened at the Mpala interchange on the Entebbe expressway at about 06:30am on Monday, March 16, 2026.

One of those killed in the accident was a businessman from Masaka who has been identifed as Bosco Ssenyonjo (also known as Bosco Bitanda). Ssenyonjo was travelling in the vehicle with his family. It is said that Ssenyonjo lost control of the vehicle.

“Three people died today on the 16th March 2026, following a single fatal crash at Mpala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway at 06:30 am,” said Michael Kananura, the spokesperson of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety at Uganda Police Force. 

“The crash involved vehicle UBG 734S, a T/ Land Cruiser. The driver of the said vehicle identified as Ssenyonjo Bosco a business man resident of Masaka, was traveling with his family towards the Entebbe side when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding on the expressway.”

Kananura added: “The vehicle first knocked the basement of a street light pole and later hit a road pillar before overturning several times.”

Ssenyonjo and two others died on the spot. Two more occupants of the same vehicle sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Entebbe Grade B Hospital. 

“As a result of the crash, 03 occupants including the driver died instantly while 02 others sustained severe injuries A team of Traffic Police responded swiftly to the scene evacuated the injured victims to Grade B Hospital where they received first aid before being referred to another medical facility for further management,” noted Kananura.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased who lost their lives in this crash. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time and we wish a quick recovery to the injured Motorists are advised to strictly observe speed limits, remain alert while driving and always maintain full control of their vehicles.” 

Last week, five people died in a bus accident, while President Museveni also recently survived an accident, as reported Here and There.
