By the time of his death, he was barely a year in office.

Even before his body was returned to Uganda from the US where he died, Oulanyah had been replaced by Anita Among, her hitherto deputy while Thomas Tayebwa became Deputy Speaker.

And while Among was expected to move to the office Speaker Oulanyah previously occupied, she refused. (Read Story Here).

Now, on April 27, Tayebwa, the Ruhinda North MP, occupied the office space his boss Among rejected.

Parliament’s chaplains prayed for the office as Tayebwa and Among knelt.

“I was joined by the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Staff and brethren in prayer as I embarked on a new journey in my newly allocated office space,” said Tayebwa after the prayers.

“I thank the Parliament Chaplains Rev Fr Ponsiano Kaweesa and Rev Christine Shimanya for their intercession, blessings.”

Oulanyah succumbed to multiple organ failure, according to a report by health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng. (Read Story Here).

But Oulanyah’s father insisted that his son was poisoned. (Read Story Here).
