Former speaker Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah has been laid to rest in his home district of Omoro in Acholi sub-region of Northern Uganda.
Thousands turned up for the burial ceremony that ended weeks of mourning.

On Tuesday, the body was brought to parliament where MPs paid tribute to Oulanyah.

Today, he was laid to rest at an event where vice president Jessica Alupo was chief mourner.
He was given a 17-gun salute.
