‘They Beat Me With Electricity Wires (Solidos) Five Times a Day & Squeezed My ‘Central Government’ — Eddie Mutwe Tells Lawyer

Edward Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe, the chief bodyguard for main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, was beaten with electricity wires, locally known as solidos, and his priv@te pa√ts squeezed, his lawyer Magellan Kazibwe has said. 

Abducted by state security operatives in Mukono District on April 27, Eddie Mutwe has been under detention in an undisclosed location.

Last week, President Yoweri Museveni’s son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba said Eddie Mutwe was in his basement learning Runyankore.

On Monday, May 05, Eddie Mutwe was dumped at the Masaka High Court. His lawyer Kazibwe said Eddie Mutwe told him how much he had been tortured.

Counsel Kazibwe also said that Eddie Mutwe was in a “pathetic situation” and urgently needed medical treatment.

Images shared from the court premises showed Eddie Mutwe limping and supported by other people to walk.

According to the lawyer, the operatives in charge of torturing Bobi Wine’s bodyguard meted acts of torture on him at least five times a day.

The acts of torture included use of electricity wires, according to Kazibwe. He also said that Eddie Mutwe had told him that those in charge of torturing him had also squeezed his priv@te pa√ts.

“Mr Edward Ssebuuufu has been over tortured. For all the days he has been in illegal detention, he was tortured every day,” said Kazibwe.

“He has told and my colleague that he was tortured five times everyday, and that they were beating him using solidos, these wires of electricity.”

Lawyer Kazibwe added: “They were electrocuting him, they were squeezing him, including his priv@te pa√ts. He is in great pain. He has not been receiving medication, he has not accessed any doctor up to now.”

He went on to say that Eddie Mutwe’s phone and money were confiscated, and that he had not been eating, greatly affecting his health.

Meanwhile, Eddie Mutwe  has been charged with robbery and remanded. (See Details Here).

It should be remembered that last week, first son and CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba revealed that Eddie Mutwe was in his basement learning Runyankore language. Muhoozi even told Bobi Wine, ‘what will you do about it?’ (See Details Here).
