Ugandans have been reacting to pictures showing Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoi Owiny-Dollo laying bricks.
CJ Owiny-Dollo, the head of the judicial branch of government, is said to have spent his weekend laying bricks in Agago for a local church.
Number Four in hierarchy – only below President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, Vice President Jessica Alupo and Speaker Jacob Oulanyah – Owiny-Dollo left tongues wagging when the photos emerged online.
Some praised him for his humility – that he had accepted to mingle with locals in building the House of the Lord.
“My lord chief Justice Alfonso Owiny Dolo joins the Christians in the struggle to build the house of God. Humility comes with a big reward in Heaven. Be blessed ladit. The message is felt,” wrote Kitgum Municipality MP Lillian Aber.
But some people argued that Owiny-Dollo might just be a stingy man, and that he should just have sent money to build the church instead of getting himself dirty.
