State House Comptroller Jane Barekye has invited bidders to pre-qualify for short listing (pre-qualification) of providers for works, services and supplies for the 2021/2022 to 2023/2024 financial years.
In a notice, Comptroller Barekye said State House has received funds from the Government of Uganda and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds towards the cost of procuring supplies, services and works in the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.
“State House now invites suitably qualified bidders to submit sealed pre-qualification submissions for supplies, services and works for the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024,” reads the notice in part.
The supplies to be supplied include: building materials and agricultural tools, cleaning equipment and materials, computers, computer consumables and accessories, drugs, laboratory equipment, reagents, chemicals, electrical equipment and accessories, firefighting equipment and spares, food stuff, generators and solar equipment, kitchen equipment, printers, printer consumables and accessories, motor vehicles, motorcycles, tyres, tubes, batteries and spare parts (new), air conditioners and accessories, office furniture and fittings, assorted office stationery, office equipment and tools, petroleum products and lubricants, pipes and fittings, computer software, uniforms, curtains, protective wear and carpets, and plumbing materials.
The services are: advertising and media, air ticketing, tours and travel, auctioneering services, catering, cleaning services, computer repair and maintenance, engraving services, garbage collection and disposal, hotel and conference facilities, insurance services, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, maintenance and repair of furniture and fittings, maintenance and repair of office tools and equipment, printing, art and design, repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and cycles as well as gardening and compound maintenance.
State House is also procuring contractor to undertake mechanical works (maintenance of cold and hot water systems); electrical works (air-conditioning system, switchboards, closed-circuit-system – CCTV); maintenance of lifts as well as civil works.
“Pre-qualification submissions/ Expressions of interest will be evaluated in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act as amended. Pre-qualification is open to all bidders,” announced Barekye. “Prequalification documents in English may be obtained by interested bidders upon submission of an application via email address procurement@statehouse.go.ug and upon payment of a non- refundable fee of UGX 50,000.”
The fees will be paid through DTB Bank. After payment of the fees, the bidder will be expected to submit a scanned copy of the receipt issued by the bank as proof evidencing payment to the email above, further noted the comptroller.
“The document shall then be issued to the bidder via their email address. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. Pre-qualification submission/ Expression of interest will be delivered to the following address head PDU, Okello House, Plot 10A Nehru Avenue, and P. O. Box 25497 Kampala below at or before 29th November 2021 at 10:30am. Late submissions will be rejected,” further announced.
“In observance of the measures put in place to reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 Virus, the bid opening of the tender for prequalification shall be conducted without the Bidder’s representative in attendance. The results of bid opening shall be communicated to the bidders by display on State House website and by email.”
According to the State House Comptroller, the bid closing date will be November 29; the evaluation process will happen from November 30 through December 21; while the display and communication of best evaluated bidder will be communicated in a notice issued on December 23.
