Speaker Anita Among Mourns Mother-in-Law

Speaker Anita Among is mourning her mother-in-law. Anita Among says her husband’s mother Ruth Safia Nakisuyi Birabwa breathed her last on Wednesday, 08 April 2026. She was 82 years old.

Also Bukedea District Woman MP, Anita Among said that her mother-in-law Ruth Safia Nakisuyi Birabwa passed on peacefully in the afternoon of Wednesday at Kampala Hospital.

Ruth Safia Nakisuyi Birabwa will be laid to rest at the home of the Magogos in Kagulu of Buyende District on Friday, April 10, 2026.

“Dear friends, family, and valued colleagues, it is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Mother, Mama Nakisuyi  Ruth Biribawa Safia, mother of my dear husband, Honourable Eng. Moses Magogo. Mama Ruth peacefully left us this afternoon at Kampala Hospital,” wrote Anita Among.

“A vigil will be held tomorrow, Thursday, 9th April, at our home in Kagulu, Buyende District, followed by her burial on Friday, 10th April. We deeply appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May the Almighty Allah grant her eternal peace—Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

Anita Among’s husband Moses Hassim Magogo, the President, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and Member of Parliament (Uganda-Budiope East), reflected on what a tough month it has been for the family.

“Inalilahi wa inalilahi Rajihuun. Maama Nakisuyi Ruth Biribawa Safia (my biological mother) has gone back to Allah at 82 years. We thank Allah for the time He has lent her to us,” Magogo wrote.

“What a month it has been to the family. Burial is Friday 10th April 2026 at my home in Nalina, Kagulu, Buyende District.”
