A minister in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government has blasted politicians and other Ugandans linking the recent attack on a school in Kasese District to the release of Rwenzururu King Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere.
The attack at the school in Mpondwe happened after the release of the Omusinga after government dropped charges against him. The king and his guards had been battling murder, terrorism, treason, malicious damage to property, attempted murder, and aggravated robbery charges for about seven years.
But the Directorate of Public Prosecutions withdrew the charges.
The release of the king was followed by the attack at Lhubirira Secondary School in which 42 people, majority of them students, were killed by a group government security forces claims is the ADF.
Some people have been linking the attack to release of the Rwenzururu king.
But State minister for ICT and National Guidance Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kime has blasted all leaders who are linking the suspected ADF attack at Mpondwe Lhubiriha Secondary school which claimed over 42 lives to the release of OBR king and his royal guards.
Speaking to the journalists on Saturday afternoon after witnessing the sendoff of the victims who lost their lives in the attack in Bukonzo West and Bukonzo East, Kabbyanga said that any leader who is relating the ADF attack to the release of OBR king is has nothing to say and should shut up.
Minister Kabbyanga urged leaders to think twice before they speak.
Kabbyanga used the same podium to request President Museveni reinforce army in the district due to its size.
Florence Kabugho, the area woman MP, tasked Government to quickly a comprehensive report on the attack.
It should be remembered that the killings at the school happened a day after the Canadian owner completed a financial audit of the books of accounts as different groups fought to take over the school. The school bosses have also been arrested in relation to the massacre at the school. (See Details Here and Here).
