SECURITY: Museveni Sends Clear Warning to Bobi Wine

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has sent a clear warning to former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and foreign allies reportedly planning to destabilize Uganda.

On August 12, Museveni officiated at the International Youth Day celebrations at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in the capital Kampala.

The day was marked under the theme: “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health.”

In his remarks, Museveni sent a message to Bobi Wine who has been out of the country for weeks, and his opposition National Unity Platform (NUP).

The Commander-in-chief, who has ruled Uganda for 35 years and still counting, also warned Bobi Wine’s foreign allies Uganda would crush them if they dared attempt to destabilize the country.

Bobi Wine has previously urged the western powers to slap sanctions against Museveni and his top military and political officials over alleged human rights violations.

“I will crush anyone who wants to destablize our country’s security. we have built this capacity for 60 years. This started during my days in school, in the 1960s. Our activities made some people uncomfortable because they were political,” warned the formet bush war general.

“I hear people moving to the neighbouring countries. You are wasting your time. We will crush you.”

The president is expected to offer more details on this warning in his August 14 security address. (See: CONFIRMED: Museveni to Address Nation This Saturday).

Meanwhile, Museveni also urged the youth to engage in the four sectors of the economy: commercial agriculture, industries, services, and ICT.

He added that his NRM government was deliberate about creating wealth through these four sectors.

He also told the youth leaders to play their roles well, and assured them more money would be injected into youth projects.

‘Youth leaders be should be clear. Stop being polite to fellow youth who are not working, wake them up,” he said.

“Stop wasting your time and engage in production to be able to live purposeful lives. The government is committed to putting more funds to fight poverty through programs.”
