Scores Feared Dead in Buziga Building Collapse

Scores of people are feared dead in Buziga building collapse, The Pearl Times reports. The building collapse in Katuuso Buziga happened in the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025. 

Police and residents were at the scene of the building collapse trying to rescue people who are believed to be trapped within the rubble and debris.

The building that collapsed was still under construction.

It was not clear how many people were in the uncompleted building by the time it collapsed.

By the time of publishing this report, two people had been rescued with injuries.

A similar building collapse happened in Buziga in 2018. Then, two people were injured as a four-storied building collapsed. Up to 22 builders and a guard who were at the building under construction survived.

In 2021, a building collapsed in Kisenyi, killing at least six people, as reported Here.

We have learnt of a building that has collapsed in Katuuso Zone, Buziga Parish, Makindye Division in the night of June 15, 2025. KCCA together with Uganda Police Force are on ground as rescue efforts are ongoing. One person has been rescued and is receiving medical attention. We will keep the public updated.
