At least four traders have perished in an accident in Mubende District at about 10pm on March 02.
Wamala Region Police Spokesperson ASP Racheal Kawala says the accident happened when a white Fuso vehicle registration number UAY 196T carrying market traders lost control and rammed into a building at Madudu Junction along Mubende-Kakumiro Highway in Mubende District.
“The motor vehicle that was overloaded with market vendors and their luggage, lost control, overturned and rammed into a building killing four people and injuring 18. Three died on spot while another died in Mubende Hospital. The deceased are three females and one Male, ” noted Kawala.
The deceased have been identified as Nakibuuka, Yasinta Katushabe Yasinta, aged 45; a one Harriet; and Ssembatya.
Those who were injured, and have been admitted at Mubende Hospital, are: Kelebu Mubulizi, Alice Ssemakula, Emmanuel Kasibante, Kenneth Wasswa, Ronald Zziwa, Posiano Ssenegeya, a one Jonathan, Richard Male and Francis Bale.
The others are: Vincent Kasumba, Kalijira Nakyanzi, Safina, Grace Nampijja, Habibu Nfitikiza, Steven Nzeimana, Willy Lukwago, Realty Nangozi and Supesioza Musanagowoza.
