Deputy prime minister Rebecca Kadaga has exited NRM CEC in humiliating defeat in second national vice chairperson race.
Rebecca Kadaga, a former speaker of Parliament, lost to incumbent speaker Anita Among.
Among now bags a seat on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
NRM Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi declared Anita Among winner and the newly elected second national vice chairperson (female) in the NRM CEC at about 11:05pm on Wednesday, August 27.
A total of 12,582 votes were recorded. Anita Among got 11,680 votes while Kadaga secured 902 votes.
“I therefore declare Anita Annet Among who has polled the highest number of 11,680 votes representing 92.8 percent as the duly elected 2nd National Vice chairperson (female),” Tanga Odoi announced.
The announcement put to an end the most talked about race of the NRM CEC 2025.
