PROUD OF HIS SON: Museveni Praises Muhoozi in Public. See Details

President Yoweri Museveni has praised his son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Ugandan Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and his senior advisor on special operations.

Both father and son appeared in public at an event to mark Uganda’s 62nd independence anniversary. Uganda got her independence from the British colonialists in 1962.

President since taking power after a five-year bush war in 1986, Museveni has ruled Uganda for over a half of the 62 years. His son Muhoozi, now a full military general, has expressed interest in succeeding his father.

As the two family members, and arguably the most important men in Uganda’s politics at the moment, met in Busia on October 9, 2024, the president praised his son as those who came for the event, including heads of missions, watched.

Like any other father, Museveni is clearly proud of his son and the praises in public were proof to this. And the praises were not based in nothingness but rather on what the president feels his son has improved in the army.

Gen Muhoozi has been CDF since March when Museveni fired then military chief and consoled him with the job of a junior minister. (See Details Here, There and Over There).

Museveni was impressed with how his son has improved the parade, praising him for being forward looking and attempting to reform the parade.

“I want to congratulate the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for rationalizing the parade and making it shorter,” Museveni said of his son.

“Now that they have completed their work, they have moved on. The old parade we inherited from our brothers, but it is time to reform it.”

Museveni has previously explained why he gave his son the name ‘Muhoozi’ in relation to showing his enemies fire.

He also revealed the special name he calls his son and how it came about. (See Details Here and There).
