Rajiv Ruparelia has perished in a May 03 accident, both traffic police and his family have confirmed.
“The family of Sudhir and Jyotsna Ruparelia would like to inform all family, friends and in laws of the sudden death of their son, Rajiv Ruparelia. Rajiv died in a car accident at 2.44am. He was 35 years old and is survived by a daughter of three years. May his soul RIP,” the Ruparelia family said in a statement.

Rajiv Ruparelia was son to tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia.
Rajiv Ruparelia was born in Uganda on January 2, 1990. He was the only son of Sudhir Ruparelia and Jyotsna Ruparelia.
Their other children are Meera Ruparelia and Sheena Ruparelia.
Rajiv has been serving as the Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in the country.
Running businesses in real estate, construction, floriculture, education, hospitality, and finance, Ruparelia Group owns Premier Recruitment Limited, Crane Management Services Limited, Delhi Public International School-Naguru, Goldstar Insurance Company Limited, Kabira Country Club in Bukoto, Kampala International School Uganda and Kampala Parents’ School.
Other Ruparelia Group investments include: Kampala Speke Hotel, Meera Investments Limited, Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, Premier Roses Limited, Rosebud Limited, Sanyu FM 88.2, Speke Apartments Limited, Speke Resort and Conference Center – Munyonyo, Kampala Tourist Hotel, Victoria University Uganda, Vcon Construction Uganda Limited, and Premier Sand Limited, among other companies, according to information obtained by The Pearl Times.
Rajiv Ruparelia had control over these and several other investments.
He earned his undergraduate education in the UK, bagging his degree in financial management from Regent’s University London.
Returning to Uganda in 2014 – about 11 years ago – Rajiv Ruparelia applied his knowledge and skills in his father’s business empire.
In 2017, he was appointed the managing director of the Ruparelia Group a role under which he was responsible for developing sound business strategies and delivering strong leadership across the group.
He also served on the Ruparelia Foundation’s board. Formed by Sudhir Ruparelia in 2012, the Ruparelia Foundation was established to “create a positive and transformative change in the community.”
In his role as a member on the board of the Ruparelia Foundation, Rajiv led the general welfare department “and fervently works towards promoting sports in the country explaining his love for playing golf and rugby,” according to the Foundation.
“Rajiv’s heart has always been in his country of birth where he believes he can effect change by boosting the efforts of his compatriots whether through charity or job creation,” read part of a statement on the foundation’s site.
Rajiv Ruparelia was a also into motorsport, and was a rally driver for the Rajiv Ruparelia Rally Team.
Rajiv Ruparelia was is married to Mrs. Naiya Khagram Ruparelia. Rajiv and Naiya Khagram were joined in marriage in London in 2017.
The couple welcomed their first child in 2022.
Rajiv Ruparelia is survived by Naiya Khagram and his three-year-old daughter.
He was a young tycoon, and son of a wealthy man whose networth is estimated at US$1.2 billion.
Rajiv Ruparelia died at the age of 35. He was driving a Nissan GTR, registration number UAT 638L.
