One of the bodyguards of Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja was involved in an accident as the premier headed to an event on Saturday, May 03, 2025.
The accident happened at Sanga in Kiruhura District as Nabbanja and her team were headed to Kinoni Integrated Primary School where the prime minister was invited as chief guest as the school celebrated 100 years of existence.
Identified as Sam Serugo, aged 35, Nabbanja’s bodyguard was rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
Nabbanja continued to Kinoni Primary School in Rwampara District to officiate at celebrations for 100 years of existence and a century of educating and nurturing generations.
She saluted the school administration, teaching staff, the old students, the parents, and the learners on “this incredible milestone,” noting “a centenary is not just a number” but rather “a testimony of endurance, service, and impact.”
“I was pleased to hear that Kinoni Primary School has consistently performed well, producing doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, public servants and leaders,” she further noted.
“That is the fruit of dedication and discipline. This is in line with the NRM objectives on quality education for all. Congratulations on this historic milestone.”
By publication time, Nabbanja’s bodyguard was still admitted at the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
The accident is just one of those recorded in the country on Saturday. The other claimed the life of Rajiv Ruparelia, son to businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, who had flown from London to attend his friend’s wedding as groomsman. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
