The Ruparelia family has released Rajiv Ruparelia cremation date and venue. Rajiv Ruparelia died in a car crash at the Busabala flyover. His white Nissan GTR registration number UAT 638L crashed, overturned, and caught fire.
The body of Rajiv Ruparelia was badly burnt. The remains have been taken to Uganda Funeral Services. “As the family makes arrangements for his final send-off, may the love and memories of Rajiv Ruparelia bring comfort to his loved ones during this difficult time,” the funeral home said in a short social media statement.
In a statement, the Ruparelia family has asked that their “privacy be respected during this tough and trying time.”
It also announced that vigils will be held at the Ruparelia residence until the body of Rajiv Ruparelia has been cremated.
The family also announced that the cremation of the remains of Rajiv Ruparelia will be held at the Hindu Crematorium in Lugogo in the Ugandan capital Kampala.
The cremation of Rajiv Ruparelia’s remains will happen at 2:30pm on Tuesday, May 06, 2025, according to a statement by the Ruparelia family.
Cremation is a common aspect of funeral rites for Ugandans of Indian origin.
Not so many Ugandans from indigenous tribes carry out cremation. Last month, the body of former Voice of America’s Straight Talk Africa host Shaka Ssali aka Kabale Boy was burnt to ashes in respect of his will. (See Details Here).
