Officials from assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) are expected to brief First Lady, and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, ahead of the release of the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results.
The PLE examinations were done late due to disruptions by the Covid19 pandemic that saw schools closed for over half a year.
Normally, PLE results are expected in January or February, but they have delayed due to disruption in the academic calendar.
Now, the education ministry has revealed the results are ready for release.
Although the release date is not yet known it is hoped the results could be out Thursday, Friday or next week.
“The official release date for the Primary Leaving Examinations 2020 to be communicated soon,” said the ministry in a short statement.
Uneb revealed its top officials would brief Minister Ms Museveni on July 14.
“On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, Uneb will brief the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, with the other Ministry officials on the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination Results. This is in preparation for the official release of the PLE Results expected soon after that,” Uneb said.
Education ministry permanent ministry noted that the briefing will happen at State House Nakasero.
