Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has given an update on PLE 2025 results release.
There have been several claims on the upcoming release of the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results. Some claimed that an internet shutdown had caused delays to PLE 2025 results release.
Uneb’s spokesperson (Principal Public Relations Officer – PPRO) Jennifer Kalule‑Musamba has called for calm, dismissing reports that an internet shutdown had caused delays in the PLE 2025 results release.
“It has come to the attention of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) that there are misleading reports indicating that there is a delay in the release of the 2025 PLE results allegedly due to a national internet shut down on 14th January, 2026,” noted Jennifer Kalule‑Musamba.
“UNEB hereby calls on the public to stay calm and disregard such misleading information as fake and baseless, only intended to cause unnecessary panic.”
UNEB has confirmed that the results will be released on the scheduled date once the final quality checks are completed, and the board urges the public to ignore any unverified claims about delays or disruptions.
“The public is hereby assured that all the necessary quality assurance procedures have been effectively finalised, and that the release date will be announced in due course,” she added.
“We would also like to clarify that the release of the 2025 PLE results is still within the specified timeline, and there is therefore no cause for alarm.”
A total of 817,998 candidates sat for the exams, with 428,398 girls and 389,589 boys.
The announcement of the PLE 2025 results release date is expected to follow the briefing of the education minister by Uneb officials on the performance in the primary leaving examinations done last year.
