PLE 2024 STAR SCHOOLS: Here are Uganda’s Top Best Performing Schools With First Grades Only

Primary Leaving Examinations or PLE 2024 Star schools are those Ugandan schools whose candidates post enviable performance in the assessment that winds up primary education and opens up the doors for secondary education. As this publication has previously reported, the battle for grades in a competitive education services industry has made some schools opt for a few candidates with the hope that when all these pass with first grades, their education institutions will earn places on the coveted lists of top performing schools that we are about to present in this report.

Thus, The Pearl Times Analysis desk is of the view that in circumstances where schools have all their candidates with first grades (division one), those with the highest number of candidates are ranked higher than those with less candidates.

First, for those reading this publication’s coverage of national exams for the first time, first grade or division one at PLE begins at aggregate four (the best – where one score distinction one or D1 in each of the four subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies), and end at aggregate 12.

Aggregate 12 means that a candidate scores an average of credit three (C3) in each of the four subjects examined by assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) at PLE.

So, with that explained, the following are the PLE 2024 star schools. They are Uganda’s Top Best Performing Schools With First Grades Only.

Topping the list is KY Day and Boarding Primary School from Masaka City which had 168 candidates and they all passed in grade one, followed by Quality Junior School Kayanja from Mukono District which had 113 candidates and they all passed in Division One.
