PHOTOS: What You Missed as Minister Phiona Nyamutoro Introduced Eddy Kenzo for a ‘New Journey’

Junior minister in charge of mineral development Phiona Nyamutoro has officially introduced Ugandan singer Edirisa Musuuza, popularly known by his stage name Eddy Kenzo, as the man of her youth, and the one with whom she wants to spend the rest of her life.

Minister Phiona Nyamutoro hosted their friends and family members to an introduction ceremony held at her home in the upscale suburb of Buziga in the capital Kampala on Saturday, June 29, 2024, as she and Eddy Kenzo moved a step closer to formalizing their love relationship that has gone on for years until it came to light a few months ago.

Eddy Kenzo’s friends such as businessman Felix Kabuye were in attendance. They showed off as they threw dollar bills at Nyamutoro. Splashing money at brides is a common occurrence at Ugandan ceremonies as grooms, their friends and family members always want to show that they are well-off  and the woman they are taking will not wallow in poverty.

Recovering from a heart break he suffered after fellow singer Rema Namakula, Eddy Kenzo enjoyed every moment of the introduction ceremony, and so did Phiona Nyamutoro. The two lovers were seen stealing glances at each other and smiling from ear to ear. Clearly, the chemistry between the two, built in a few years, is working.

The couple, the friends, family members and other guests sang and danced the day away. Eddy Kenzo’s songs carried the day. Nyamutoro, who had been a fan of Kenzo even before the two fell in love, savored the songs.

The couple has now set the stage for a new beginning. Two ceremonies remain: Kenzo will officially his bride, Phiona Nyamutoro, from her parents’ home in Nebbi. The couple will also choose the kind of a religious wedding to conduct. Kenzo is a Muslim while Nyamutoro comes from a Catholic family.
