Phiona Nyamutoro, the Ugandan junior minister in charge of mineral development, has introduced BET award winner, singer Edrisa Musuuza popularly known as Eddy Kenzo, to her family as the couple moves to formalize their relationship.
Years after he broke up with singer Rema Namakula who later married Dr Hamza Ssebunya, Eddy Kenzo had remained silent about his love relationship as he healed from the heartbreak before he could open up for a new lover.
In February 2024, while appearing on BBS TV, Eddy Kenzo revealed that he was in love again, single no more, and that he had been blessed with another child, a baby boy – adding to his known children, Maya Musuuza and Amaal Musuuza.
Fast forward to March 2024, the following month, President Yoweri Museveni appointed Nyamutoro, the Female National Youth MP, as state minister for mineral development.
As Nyamutoro swam in glory, Eddy Kenzo was in tow. Even as Nyamutoro took oath as minister at State House Entebbe, Eddy Kenzo was seen close, taking the memorable pictures of the junior minister’s inauguration.
In April 2024, as he performed at Comedy Store on Eid Day in Lugogo, Eddy Kenzo, the Uganda National Musicians Federation President, let the cat out of the bag on the nature of his relationship with Minister Nyamutoro.
“I just wanna let you know that Hon Phiona Nyamutoro is my personal person and we have a kid together. I have also cleared the air on that,” confirmed Eddy Kenzo.
Over two months since that revelation, Minister Nyamutoro has introduced Eddy Kenzo to her family and friends at her home.
Online, pictures of the preparations for the introduction ceremony have Eddy Kenzo and Nyamutoro trending. From those admiring the decoration to those having a thing or two to say about the guests as well as a clip of Eddy Kenzo’s facial being done, it’s the couple’s day.
And there were signs as early as June 28, 2024 as Eddy Kenzo was at the Bride and Groom Expo at Lugogo where he is said to have purchased some bridal stuff, according to Bukedde TV, which is part of Vision Group, the organizers of the Bride and Groom Expo. She was seen at NBS TV news anchor Sheila Tusiime’s bridal stall at the expo.
