OULANYAH’S LAST DAY IN KAMPALA: Jacob Oulanyah’s Body Taken to Kololo after Spending Night in Parliament

The body of Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah, the late former speaker of the 11th Parliament, has arrived at the Kololo Independence Grounds for a national service after it spent the night at Parliament.

Speaker Oulanyah died on March 20. (Read Story Here).

Oulanyah’s body was returned on April 01 amidst tears at the Entebbe International Airport. (Read Story Here).

The former speaker’s body was taken to his home in Muyenga, Kampala, on April 03. (Read Story Here).

On Tuesday, the body was brought to parliament where MPs paid tribute to Oulanyah.

The MPs also agreed on an annual Jacob Oulanyah Memorial Day. (Read Story Here).

Oulanyah’s body left Parliament at about 9am on April 06.

Anglican Church Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu will lead a service.

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni will be the chief mourner at the national funeral service.

President Museveni is expected to deliver a lengthy tribute to Oulanyah.

The last time he talked about him and his death, Museveni ordered the arrest of those claiming that Oulanyah was poisoned. (Read Story Here).

After the service at Kololo, the body is expected to be driven to Kyambogo from where it will be airlifted to Oulanyah’s home village of Ayom Lony in Omoro District’s Lalogi sub-county.
