NWSC MD Silver Mugisha: Our Modest Properties are Duly Declared to IGG

The Managing Director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), Dr. Silver Mugisha, has reiterated that the offices of the utility remain open for accountability and that he has remained compliant with the requirements of the Inspectorate of Government. 

A veteran engineer, Dr. Mugisha has been head of NWSC for 12 years. Rising through the ranks to the helm of National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Mugisha has made commendable contributions in the 32 years he has been associated with the corporation.

Mugisha has emphasized the need for accountability and compliance with requirements, but warned that the demand for the same should not stand in the way of the goal of expanding access to clean and safe water to more Ugandans.

“We assure the public that our offices remain open for accountability. We are currently focusing on creating improved customer experiences,” noted Dr Mugisha.

“We only request to be given space to reflect on serving Ugandans rather than trying to divert us to non-productive “things.”

Leading the way for the staff he leads, Dr Mugisha has revealed that he always declares his properties to the Inspector General of Government as required of civil servants.

“In 32 years of working at NWSC, largely in senior positions, I and my wife (Hon KAM [Katusiime Annet Mugisha]) own modest properties that have been duly declared to IGG,” said Mugisha. “You may also wish to note that my predecessors also own certain properties.”
