Ugandan first son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has vowed to visit Kenya, described as useless some Kenyans who claim to hate him.
Muhoozi says some people in Kenya hate powerful and influential people like their leaders. He added that some Kenyans even hate their President William Ruto.
Indeed, President has not been a popular president especially this year, with the country’s young people or Gen Zs protesting his government’s tax bills and calling for him to step down.
The Gen Zs relented after Ruto had withdrawn the tax bill and dissolved his cabinet, sending home some of those considered incompetent.
Currently, Ruto’s government is on the spot over a motion, in the National Assembly, for the impeachment of his deputy president Rigathi Gachagua over, among other allegations, accumulation of unexplained wealth. (See Details Here).
Just like there are reasons for some Kenyans not to like President Ruto, there are reasons why some in Uganda’s eastern neighbor may not like Museveni’s son.
The trouble between him and some Kenyans began some few years ago when the then Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, then the Commander of the UPDF Land Forces, posted about invading Kenya and taking over Nairobi.
The careless tweet made Museveni fire his son from his role as Commander of the UPDF Land Forces but then promoted him to the rank of a full general. (Read Story Here).
Museveni apologized to Kenyans and their president Ruto and the government told Kenyans to ignore the first son’s tweets. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
A Kenyan told Muhoozi they don’t like him and that they will whip him if he goes there. “We really hate you here in Kenya, if you step foot here, tutakupiga vibaya sana,” a one @Anthony_Kioko00 on X.
Muhoozi responded: “You hate everyone even President Ruto now. Imagine? But that’s because you are useless. No, you will love me. Kiboko zangu hamujawahi kuona.”
But another Kenyan encouraged him. “General you’re welcome in Kenya anytime. You have the best sense of humour in the entire continent. Forget about these cheap bloggers,” said a one @nrabach1.
To which Muhoozi said, “I get it. They are looking for attention from the Muchwezi. I’m coming to my homeland Kenya soon. Nothing will stop me.”
Muhoozi recently said God had told him to forgive Kenyans and not to invade their country, prompting reactions from Kenyans. (See Details Here).
