Makerere University has released the list of students who have been admitted on government sponsorship to pursue various academic programs or courses in different disciplines taught at the country’s largest and oldest higher learning institution.
Showing names of students who have been admitted to study starting in the 2022-2023 academic year which begins next month, the list was released by Makerere University Academic Registrar Alfred Masikye Namaoh.
The list comprises names of students who sat their A-level or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations in 2018, 2019 and 2020 but had not managed to secure admission on government sponsorship.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic that disrupted learning and made it impossible for the government-run Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) was unable to conduct a set of examinations whose results would inform the list of students that would have been admitted under scholarship schemes such as national merit and quota.
The admitted students are expected to report to the university on October 01 when the new academic year starts.
