The Education Service Commission (ESC) has released names of thousands of teachers (graduates and diploma holders) shortlisted for aptitude tests for government payroll jobs in seed schools.
Released by Dr Asuman Lukwago, the ESC secretary, the lists form the second batch in the recruitment of teachers for seed schools across the country.

In the first batch – or cluster one, two and part of three – over 7000 teachers (graduates only) were shortlisted.
“The Secretary Education Service Commission (ESC) informs applicants whoresponded to the ESC External Advert No. 3/2025 and Addendum to External Advert No. 3/2025 for schools built under the Uganda Inter-Government Fiscal Transfer Program (UGIFT/3) FY 2025/2026 which appeared in The New Vision and The Monitor Newspapers of 22nd December 2025 and 2nd February 2026, for the posts of: Education Officer (EO) Assistant Education Officer (AEO), that the shortlists for aptitude tests are ready,” announced Dr Lukwago.
“Candidates who applied under Clusters 4, 5 and part 3 plus and those who applied on-line will be subjected to Aptitude Tests according to the schedules.”
He further noted that the aptitude tests will happen starting on Monday, May 18, 2026, and ending on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The ESC will use three centers for the aptitude tests: Kololo Senior Secondary School, Mengo Senior School and Lubiri Senior Secondary School.
There will be more lists for more clusters for the diploma holders who applied for the posts of assistant education officers. The ESC was also yet to release the lists for support staff for the seed schools.
“Aptitude Tests for the post of Assistant Education Officer for the remaining Schools/clusters plus those who have applied on-line will be communicated later,” noted Lukwago.
“Shortlists for those who applied for non-teaching posts will be communicated later.”
The ESC secretary informed shortlisted candidates about the rules to be followed.
“All Shortlisted applicants MUST appear for the Aptitude Tests as scheduled and MUST come along with National Identity Cards,” he noted.
“Mothers who intend to come with their babies should come along with baby sitters. Babies will not be allowed in the Examination Rooms.”
A number of applicants were also unsuccessful.
“Those whose names do not appear on the shortlist under clusters 4 & 5 and part of cluster 3, pIus those who applied online for the schools in the attached schedule, should consider themselves unsuccessful,” announced Lukwago.
Mindful of previous allegations that Education Service Commission officials were selling teaching jobs starting from Shs2m, Lukwago told teachers that “all services by the Education Service Commission are free of charge.”
