The Ministry of Education and Sports, through the Education Service Commission (ESC), has shortlisted over 700 teachers for jobs secondary school headteachers and deputy headteachers.
The shortlisted candidates responded to an advert the ESC put out in November 2024.
The release of the shortlist by Dr Asuman Lukwago, the Secretary of the Education Service Commission, came days after took a competence test on the on March 4-5, 2025.
Consequently, their oral interviews began on Monday, March 10 and will run up to Friday, March 21, 2025.
“The oral interviews will be conducted at Education Service Commission Office, Farmers’ House, Parliament Avenue, First Floor starting at 08:00 am each day,” said Lukwago.

“Candidates should come along with originals of their employment records plus academic/professional transcripts and certificates, valid identity cards and two printed copies of their application form.”
The ESC secretary added, “All shortlisted candidates must appear for the oral interviews as scheduled; those whose names do not appear on the shortlist should consider themselves unsuccessful for the posts above.”
Meanwhile, the ESC has released an additional shortlist, indicating that the competence test for those whose names appear thereon will happen on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Kololo Secondary School at 08.00 am. That will be followed by oral interviews as indicated on the lists.
