In our continued coverage of President Yoweri Museveni’s State House staff, we look at list with names of Museveni political mobilizers on state house payroll.
State House employs a group of people called political mobilizers who are paid a monthly salary for their work.
Critics say these people, whose salaries are paid for by the Ugandan tax payer, are engaged in partisan political mobilization for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), whose national chairman is President Yoweri Museveni.
There are also complaints about the qualifications for political mobilizers, how they are chosen, by who and why.
In fact, that is a major complaint for most State House jobs. Most appointees, it seems, land their jobs by simply catching the eye of the president or those around him through lobbying.
It is worth noting that the list in this report may not be exhaustive as presidential appointees change from time to time – and as the president may appoint whenever there is need and budget.
